Why did my list fail to build
A list stops for one of a few reasons: your plan ran out of exports, its automatic schedule was turned off, or the people source could not be reached. You are only charged for the people who made it into the list.

#Your plan ran out of exports
The list stops when your plan has no exports left. If some people were already added, the list is kept as a partial list that you can download. If none were added, it shows as stopped.
#The people source was unavailable
Each step of a build is tried up to three times, with waits of 10, 30 and 60 seconds between tries. If it still cannot reach the source, the list stops. A list that has some people keeps them. A list with none shows as stopped.
#The search is no longer available
A list is built from a search. If that search can no longer be found, the list stops.
#The automatic schedule was turned off
An automatic list is built from a saved filter. If you turn off the filter's schedule while a run is in progress, that run stops. The saved filter then shows "From a saved filter, schedule off", and no new runs are added.
#A list stays on Building with 0 people
The list has been created, but processing has not started yet. Nothing has been delivered or charged. Wait for it.
Warning
Do not create a duplicate list while one is still building.
#How to retry
- Check the list's status line on the Lists page. If it says your plan ran out of exports, make sure your plan has exports available before you retry.
- Download or use the people the list already holds. A partial list can be downloaded as CSV or Excel.
- Build the list again from your search. People you already received through the Leads Database in the last 30 days are free to get again.
- For an automatic list, check that the saved filter's schedule is on.
#If you use the API
When you start a list with the API, send a stable Idempotency-Key header of 8 to 120 characters, using letters, numbers, :, _ or -. Sending the same request with the same key returns the existing list instead of making a new one. Reusing a key for a different request returns "This request key belongs to another export."
You also need to choose either individual results or all matches. Otherwise you see "Choose individual results or all matches." Only contacts returned by that search can be chosen. Otherwise you see "Choose contacts returned by this search."
